Mariama Whyte will be performing a set of music for this special event. Shaker Heights Public Library and the Cleveland Association of Black Storytellers present a Toni Morrison Community Read-Out celebrating Song of Solomon. Part of Ohio Celebrates Toni Morrison, this event invites the community to read the novel in advance and gather for shared reading, live performance, and conversation. Participants will explore key themes, hear powerful excerpts, reflect together, and enjoy light refreshments in a welcoming, communal setting for all community ages.
A limited number of copies of the book will be given away after March 25, 2026, to those who have registered. The books have been provided by the Shaker Community Martin Luther King, Jr Celebration Committee and the Friends of Shaker Library.
